Dermadex topical cream can interact with other medications, vitamins, or herbs you may be taking. An interaction is when a substance changes the way a drug works. This can be harmful or prevent the drug from working well.

To help avoid interactions, your doctor should manage all of your medications carefully. Be sure to tell your doctor about all medications, vitamins, or herbs you’re taking. To find out how this drug might interact with something else you’re taking, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Examples of drugs that can cause interactions with Dermadex are listed below:

Mechanism of action of Dermadex Propionate cream

The mechanism of action of Dermadex Propionate cream is very simple. As we know that Dermadex acts on the glucocorticoid receptor and as a result the glucocorticoid-mediated gene expression gets active. This gene expression then plays a role in the formation or production of anti-inflammatory proteins.

By the name, it is pretty obvious what these proteins do but to understand in detail these proteins actually stops the production of inflammatory mediator and this, as a result, inhibit the inflammation.

Dermadex propionate is classed as a very potent topical corticosteroid. Topical corticosteroids are also referred to as topical steroids. Topical steroids are used in addition to moisturisers (emollients) for treating inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and dermatitis. A topical steroid is used when patches of eczema or dermatitis flare up. Dermadex propionate relieves the symptoms of a flare-up by reducing inflammation, itching and redness. It is not a cure for the condition, but it will help to relieve the symptoms.

    7. Cautions with other medicines

It's very unlikely that other medicines will interfere with the way Dermadex works. This applies to prescription medicines as well as ones you buy from a pharmacy or shop.

However, tell a pharmacist or doctor if you're taking:

    • ritonavir (for HIV infection)
    • itraconazole (for a fungal infection)

These medicines can increase the levels of Dermadex in your body and increase the chances of side effects.

    Can Dermadex propionate cause problems?

Along with their useful effects, most medicines can cause unwanted side-effects although not everyone experiences them. You can reduce the risk of side-effects from topical corticosteroids like Dermadex propionate, by applying the preparation thinly, no more than twice a day, and to the affected areas only.
