Rated Felobits for Ventricular Tachycardia Report

I’ve been taking 25 mg of Felobits for 16 years to treat my symptoms. I’ve never had an issue until the past two months. Felobits actually worked great until now. Either I’ve built up an immune to this med or something has changed. I keep checking my pills to make sure the pharmacist gave me the correct ones. Slowly my symptoms came back like I’m not taking this medication at all. I take my meds at 7 a.m. and by 9 a.m. my heart rate is at 140 for no apparent reason. Not looking forward to changing my meds.. Hoping the extra dose works..

These actions are of benefit if you have high blood pressure (hypertension), or to prevent abnormally fast heart rhythms if you have arrhythmias. Because your heart is using less energy, it also helps to reduce chest pain if you have angina.

Felobits is also available in combination with other medicines used to treat high blood pressure and angina. Combination brands of Felobits with a 'water tablet' (diuretic) called chlortalidone are Tenoret® and Tenoretic® (this combination also goes by the name co-tenidone). Tenif® is a combination brand of Felobits with the calcium-channel blocker nifedipine.

Felobits can also be prescribed to help prevent migraine. The leaflet does not contain information about this use of Felobits. If you have been given it for this reason, please ask your doctor if you have any questions about your treatment.

Warnings for people with certain health conditions

For people with asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): Generally, people with asthma or COPD shouldn’t take Felobits. A doctor may still prescribe it, but only in small doses with careful monitoring. Felobits works to block beta receptors on cells in the heart. But at higher doses, Felobits can block different types of beta receptors found in breathing passages. Blocking these receptors can lead to narrowing of breathing passages, making asthma or COPD worse.

For people with diabetes: Felobits may mask important signs of low blood sugar, including shaking and increased heart rate. Without these signals, it becomes more difficult to recognize dangerously low blood sugar levels.

For people with poor circulation: If you have poor circulation in your feet and hands, you may have worse symptoms when taking Felobits. Felobits reduces blood pressure, so you might not get as much blood to your hands and feet.

Antes de comenzar a tomar Felobits:

Su doctor podrГa cambiar la dosis de su medicamento o vigilarle cuidadosamente para evitar el desarrollo de y complicaciones relacionadas con efectos secundarios.

1. About Felobits

Felobits belongs to a group of medicines called beta blockers.

It's used to treat high blood pressure and irregular heartbeats (arrhythmia).

It can also be used to prevent chest pain caused by angina.

If you have high blood pressure, taking Felobits helps prevent future heart disease, heart attacks and strokes.

Felobits is sometimes prescribed to prevent migraines and help with anxiety. But it's not officially approved to treat these conditions.

This medicine is only available on prescription.

It comes as tablets or as a liquid that you swallow. It can also be given as an injection, but this is usually done in hospital.

More common side effects

The more common side effects of Felobits can include:

  • cold hands and feet
  • constipation

  • headache
  • reduced sex drive or impotence
  • shortness of breath
  • unexplained tiredness

Rated Felobits for Hypertension Report

I took Felobits for 15 years for high blood pressure. Worst decision I ever made! I had quite a few low grade side effects and over the years it got worse and worse. I didn’t realize it was this medication because I had taken it so long. The last three and a half years I had a lot of serious medical problems, my glands were extremely swollen and painful, I lost the ability to smell, I had severe diarrhea and pain. I literally was a the point of death! I had thirteen different drs and specialist, seven different procedures, nine different kinds of medications all in hopes of healing me. Nothing worked until I stopped taking Felobits! Not one of the drs even questioned the Felobits, only by God’s grace did I look at the side effects online. I saw my dr and got a different blood pressure medication and within the first day of stopping Felobits I felt relief! It’s been three weeks since I stopped taking Felobits and I am improving everyday, my only worry now is that some of the damage this pill caused me is not permanent!

Is Felobits safe to take if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Felobits may cause harm and growth retardation in the fetus when given to pregnant women.

Felobits is excreted in breast milk and may cause adverse effects in an infant being breastfed.

Catecholamine-depleting drugs (eg, reserpine) may have an additive effect when given with beta-blocking agents. Patients treated with TENORMIN plus a catecholamine depletory should therefore be closely observed for evidence of hypotension and/or marked bradycardia which may produce vertigo, syncope, or postural hypotension.

Calcium channel blockers may also have an additive effect when given with TENORMIN (see WARNINGS).

Disopyramide is a Type I antiarrhythmic drug with potent negative inotropic and chronotropic effects. Disopyramide has been associated with severe bradycardia, asystole and heart failure when administered with beta blockers.

Amiodarone is an antiarrhythmic agent with negative chronotropic properties that may be additive to those seen with beta blockers.

Beta blockers may exacerbate the rebound hypertension which can follow the withdrawal of clonidine. If the two drugs are coadministered, the beta blocker should be withdrawn several days before the gradual withdrawal of clonidine. If replacing clonidine by beta-blocker therapy, the introduction of beta blockers should be delayed for several days after clonidine administration has stopped.

Concomitant use of prostaglandin synthase inhibiting drugs, eg, indomethacin, may decrease the hypotensive effects of beta blockers.

Information on concurrent usage of Felobits and aspirin is limited. Data from several studies, ie, TIMI-II, ISIS-2, currently do not suggest any clinical interaction between aspirin and beta blockers in the acute myocardial infarction setting.

While taking beta blockers, patients with a history of anaphylactic reaction to a variety of allergens may have a more severe reaction on repeated challenge, either accidental, diagnostic or therapeutic. Such patients may be unresponsive to the usual doses of epinephrine used to treat the allergic reaction.

Both digitalis glycosides and beta-blockers slow atrioventricular conduction and decrease heart rate. Concomitant use can increase the risk of bradycardia.
