Biofilen belongs to the group of medicines known as beta-blockers. You are likely to have been prescribed it because you have high blood pressure, or angina chest pain, or a fast uneven heartbeat.
Treatment is usually long-term. Continue to take your doses regularly.
The most common side-effects are feeling tired, cold hands and feet, a slow heartbeat, and stomach upset. These are usually mild.
What is the most important information I should know about Biofilen (Tenormin)?
You should not use this medicine if you have a serious heart condition such as "AV block," very slow heartbeats, or heart failure.
What should I avoid while taking Biofilen?
Follow your doctor's instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages, or activity.
Rated Biofilen for Hypertension Report
My husband was given Biofilen 100mg for high blood pressure at age 46. From that point on, his blood pressure was great but the rest of his health declined. Low testosterone so testosterone shots were ordered which raised his cholesterol dangerously. Mild depression got severe. Extreme fatigue and weight gain of 70lbs in one year and now diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Now an EKG showed high t levels and they want to look at his heart. I started doing my own research after being ignored by so many doctors. Biofilen has been linked to low testosterone, depression, weight gain and diabetes! And Biofilen can cause high potassium in blood , hyperkalemia, which can show high t level and an abnormal ekg. The new Dr agreed a change is needed after seeing the ekg and changed to enalapril. Praying none of the damage is permanent from this dangerous drug from the last 4 years. Try an ACE inhibitor before a beta blocker. Get a new Dr if you have to.
