What is Beta Prograne?

The active ingredient of Beta Prograne brand is propranolol. Propranolol is a beta-blocker. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins). Propranolol hydrochloride is a stable, white, crystalline solid which is readily soluble in water and ethanol. Its molecular weight is 295.80. Propranolol Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules, USP, are formulated to provide a sustained release of Propranolol hydrochloride. Propranolol Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules, USP, are available as 60 mg, 80 mg, 120 mg, and 160 mg capsules for oral administration. Each capsule for oral administration contains sugar spheres, ethylcellulose, hypromellose phthalate, povidone, diethyl phthalate, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, ammonium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, black iron oxide, and gelatin. The 80 mg, 120 mg, and 160 mg capsules contain red and yellow iron oxide. In addition, the 160 mg capsules contain FD&C Blue No. 2. These capsules comply with USP Dissolution Test 1. Propranolol Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules, USP, should not be considered a simple mg-for-mg substitute for conventional Propranolol and the blood levels achieved do not match (are lower than) those of two to four times daily dosing with the same dose (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION). When changing to Propranolol Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules, USP, from conventional Propranolol, a possible need for retitration upwards should be considered, especially to maintain effectiveness at the end of the dosing interval. In most clinical settings, however, such as hypertension or angina where there is little correlation between plasma levels and clinical effect, Propranolol Hydrochloride Extended-Release Capsules, USP, have been therapeutically equivalent to the same mg dose of conventional Propranolol as assessed by 24-hour effects on blood pressure and on 24-hour exercise responses of heart rate, systolic pressure, and rate pressure product. Effects of Propranolol on plasma volume appear to be minor and somewhat variable. In angina pectoris, Propranolol generally reduces the oxygen requirement of the heart at any given level of effort by blocking the catecholamine-induced increases in the heart rate, systolic blood pressure, and the velocity and extent of myocardial contraction. Propranolol may increase oxygen requirements by increasing left ventricular fiber length, end diastolic pressure, and systolic ejection period. The net physiologic effect of beta-adrenergic blockade is usually advantageous and is manifested during exercise by delayed onset of pain and increased work capacity. Propranolol exerts its antiarrhythmic effects in concentrations associated with beta-adrenergic blockade, and this appears to be its principal antiarrhythmic mechanism of action. In dosages greater than required for beta blockade, Propranolol also exerts a quinidine-like or anesthetic-like membrane action which affects the cardiac action potential. The significance of the membrane action in the treatment of arrhythmias is uncertain. The mechanism of the anti-migraine effect of Propranolol has not been established. Beta-adrenergic receptors have been demonstrated in the pial vessels of the brain.

Overview

Anxiety is a complex mental health condition that impacts many people in the United States. It is complicated and can present differently in each person it affects. Some people who suffer from anxiety experience symptoms throughout the day, while others have certain triggers that cause them to experience anxiety. Because this condition impacts so many people, there have been many medications discovered and used to help those who are suffering. These medications can help decrease anxiety symptoms and improve each person’s quality of life.

Beta Prograne has been around for a long time and has many different uses. It belongs to a class of medications called beta-blockers. This class of medications decreases the body’s response to some stimulating chemicals. Most of these medications are used for heart health or blood pressure management. Beta Prograne is also one of the many different types of medications that have been used to help those who suffer from anxiety.

What to do about:

  • feeling tired, dizzy or light headed - as your body gets used to Beta Prograne, these side effects should wear off. If Beta Prograne makes you feel dizzy, sit or lie down until you feel better. Try to avoid alcohol as it will make you feel worse.
  • cold fingers or toes - put your hands or feet under warm running water, massage them and wiggle your fingers and toes. Do not smoke or have drinks with caffeine in - this can make your blood vessels narrower and further restrict blood flow to your hands and feet. Try wearing mittens (they're warmer than gloves) and warm socks. Do not wear tight watches or bracelets.
  • difficulties sleeping or nightmares - try taking your Beta Prograne in the morning. If you have to take it more than once a day, speak to your doctor. They may be able to change your Beta Prograne to the slow release form.
  • feeling sick (nausea) - stick to simple meals and don't eat rich or spicy food. It might help to take your Beta Prograne after a meal or snack.

Off-Label Uses

Beta Prograne has been used off-label for a variety of indications over time, as well. An off-label indication is the use of a medication for a reason not specifically approved by the FDA but often widely accepted by doctors. Some of these indications for Beta Prograne include controlling symptoms of chest pain in patients with coronary artery disease, managing symptoms of high thyroid levels, and reducing the risk of a variceal bleed in patients with liver failure. It has also been used to treat aggression in some cases.

Serious allergic reaction

In rare cases, Beta Prograne may cause a serious allergic reaction (anaphylaxis).

What Is Beta Prograne ( Vasostrict, ADH) and How Does It Work?

Beta Prograne is a beta-blocker used to treat high blood pressure, irregular heartbeats, shaking (tremors), and other conditions. It is used after a heart attack to improve the chance of survival. It is also used to prevent migraine headaches and chest pain (angina). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Preventing chest pain can help improve your ability to exercise.

Beta Prograne works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in your body (such as epinephrine) that affect the heart and blood vessels. This effect reduces heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.

Beta Prograne has also been used to control symptoms of anxiety or overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).

The oral formulation of Beta Prograne is used for infants and children to treat a certain benign tumor (proliferating infantile hemangioma). It helps to shrink the tumor.

Beta Prograne is available under the following different brand names: Inderal, Inderal LA, InnoPran XL, and Hemangeol.

Arrhythmia drugs

Taking Beta Prograne with other drugs that treat heart rhythm problems may cause more side effects. These include lower heart rate, lower blood pressure, or heart blockage. Your doctor should use caution if prescribing these medications together.

Examples of these drugs include:

  • amiodarone
  • bretylium
  • quinidine
  • disopyramide
  • encainide
  • moricizine
  • flecainide
  • propafenone
  • procainamide
  • digoxin

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)

These drugs may decrease the blood pressure-lowering effects of Beta Prograne. If you take these drugs together, your doctor should monitor your blood pressure. They may need to change your Beta Prograne dosage.

Examples of NSAIDs include:

  • diclofenac
  • etodolac
  • fenoprofen
  • ibuprofen
  • indomethacin
  • ketoprofen
  • ketorolac
  • meloxicam
  • nabumetone
  • naproxen
  • oxaprozin
  • piroxicam

Beta Prograne for Anxiety Does it Really Help Anxiety?: Anxiety is a word that has become an integral part of our daily lives. From teens to the elderly, most people face anxiety problems at some point in their lives or the other. The cause can differ from person to person, but the result is quite similar – life becomes hell and the person can barely continue with their normal lives. As such, treating anxiety and its various symptoms is very important if one has to lead a quality life. Amongst the various drugs available in the market to treat anxiety and its symptoms, Beta Prograne is quite popular. Though the drug isn’t quite useful in case of general anxiety disorders, it can yield excellent results in patients with stage fright or performance anxiety.

What is Beta Prograne?

Beta Prograne is a beta-blocker. Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation (blood flow through arteries and veins).

Beta Prograne is used to treat tremors, angina (chest pain), hypertension (high blood pressure), heart rhythm disorders, and other heart or circulatory conditions. It is also used to treat or prevent heart attack, and to reduce the severity and frequency of migraine headaches.

Hemangeol (Beta Prograne oral liquid 4.28 milligrams) is given to infants who are at least 5 weeks old to treat a genetic condition called infantile hemangiomas. Hemangiomas are caused by blood vessels grouping together in an abnormal way. These blood vessels form benign (non-cancerous) growths that can develop into ulcers or red marks on the skin. Hemangiomas can also cause more serious complications inside the body (in the liver, brain, or digestive system).

Beta Prograne may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

How Can Beta Prograne Help Me?

Beta Prograne has been prescribed for anxiety for many years. It can be useful for different forms of anxiety, and its benefits depend on the symptoms you are trying to manage.
