Rated Anselol for Hypertension Report

My parents had high bp. Since my thirties, so have I. I have been unable to suffer the adverse side of any medication. As a last resort, I was given the lowest dose of Anselol. My joints ached. My vision was affected. I had difficulty walking as the pain in my leg and thigh made me feel like a cripple. I saw the pharmacist at the surgery, (not so easy to see the doctors) who quite obviously thought it was ‘all in my mind’ and said he was unable to help me further. Well, I took matters into my own hands. I walk more. At least 30 minutes every other day and more if I have the time.(I am a retired female, but still very busy). I drink lots of water and watch my diet. I drink coconut water, which contains potassium and magnesium. It’s a pleasant drink and I have at least three small glasses day. I do have a weak coffee two or three times a day, occasionally with cream. I feel in charge of my body now and have just taken my bp reading 129/85. So, what do doctors know. Go for it.

What are the side effects of Anselol?

Anselol is generally well tolerated, and side effects are mild and transient. Its side effects include:

Anselol can cause breathing difficulties in patients with asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema. In patients with existing slow heart rates (bradycardias) and heart blocks (defects in the electrical conduction of the heart), Anselol can cause dangerously slow heart rates and even shock. Anselol reduces the force of heart muscle contraction and can aggravate symptoms of heart failure.

In patients with coronary artery disease, abruptly stopping Anselol can suddenly worsen angina, and occasionally precipitate heart attacks. If it is necessary to discontinue Anselol, its dosage can be reduced gradually over several weeks.

What Is Anselol and How Does It Work?

Anselol is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This medication is also used to treat chest pain (angina) and to improve survival after a heart attack.

Anselol belongs to a class of drugs known as beta-blockers. It works by blocking the action of certain natural chemicals in your body, such as epinephrine, on the heart and blood vessels. This effect lowers the heart rate, blood pressure, and strain on the heart.

Anselol may also be used to treat irregular heartbeat, heart failure, alcohol withdrawal symptoms, and to prevent migraine headaches.

Anselol is available under the following different brand names: Tenormin.

Rated Anselol for Ventricular Tachycardia Report

I was very hesitant to take this. I'm 43 and suffer (and I mean suffer) from PVC's and SVT. They both are debilitating mentally especially. That being said I finally caved and tried this at my GP's recommendation. I take 25mg's per day. but I break the pill in half and take 12.5mg in the morning and 12.5mg in the evening. Night and day difference. PVC's dropped 90-95%. Additionally my heart rate never races anymore. Exercise tolerance was a concern of mine as I like to workout. My heart rate does seem to have a ceiling, but the ceiling doesn't cause me to get light headed. In FACT I'm starting to think that the Anselol is allowing my heart to work how it should instead of racing. Example. typically after doing a set of pull ups. my heart would jump up to 150-160bpm. Now it pegs around 130-132 and doesn't go above it. I feel much better while exercising. Time will tell but for now I love this drug.

Warnings for other groups

For pregnant women: Anselol is a category D pregnancy drug. That means two things:

  1. Studies show a risk of adverse effects to the fetus when the mother takes the drug.
  2. The benefits of taking Anselol during pregnancy may outweigh the potential risks in certain cases.

Anselol use in the second trimester of pregnancy has been associated with birth of babies who are smaller than normal. Also, newborns of mothers who took Anselol at the time of birth may be at risk of hypoglycemia (lower than normal blood sugar levels) and bradycardia (slower than normal heartbeat).

If you take Anselol and are considering having a baby, or if you are pregnant, talk to your doctor right away. Anselol is not the only medication that treats high blood pressure. Other drugs have fewer adverse effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Your doctor will be able to tell you if a different drug or a dose adjustment is an option for you.

If you become pregnant while taking this drug, call your doctor right away.

For women who are breastfeeding: Anselol is absorbed into breast milk and could be passed to a child who is breastfed. Newborns who breastfeed from mothers who take Anselol are also at risk of hypoglycemia and bradycardia.

4. How and when to take it

You'll usually take Anselol once or twice a day.

When you start taking Anselol, your doctor may advise you to take your first dose before bedtime because it can make you feel dizzy.

After the first dose, if you do not feel dizzy, you can take your medicine in the morning.

If you're taking Anselol twice a day, you'll usually have 1 dose in the morning and 1 dose in the evening.

It's a good idea to leave 10 to 12 hours between doses if you can.

Do not stop taking Anselol suddenly, especially if you have heart disease. This can make your condition worse.

If you want to stop taking your medicine, speak to your doctor. They may recommended reducing your dose gradually over a few weeks.
