There are several different causes of these urinary symptoms, such as weakened pelvic floor muscles, problems causing your bladder muscles to contract too much or too early and medical conditions such as multiple sclerosis. Sometimes the cause of these symptoms is unknown.

In addition to these uses, Eurin can also be prescribed for older children (over 5 years of age) to help reduce bedwetting caused by an overactive bladder.

Eurin works by relaxing the muscles of the bladder and stopping sudden muscle contractions. It also increases the volume of urine that the bladder can hold. These actions help to control the release of urine and ease your symptoms.

Pregnancy and Eurin

Before taking Eurin, make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Studies done on animals have shown no evidence of harm to a fetus if Eurin is used in pregnancy. However, there have not been any adequate studies on pregnant humans.

If you are breastfeeding, you should weigh the benefits against the potential risks and side effects to your baby before taking Eurin.

There are several medications available which can help you to control your bladder and reduce wetting, these are called antimuscarinic or anticholinergic drugs. These medicines can help improve the symptoms of overactive bladder by relaxing the bladder muscles and reducing the number of contractions of the bladder wall. This should result in less trips to the toilet.

Anticholinergics medicines are available as tablets, as a liquid or as a patch. Like all medicines, they can sometimes have side effects, for instance a dry mouth or nausea, however, it is important that you follow your GP’s instructions and continue to take them for the duration of the course prescribed. All anticholinergics can take several weeks to work.

If you do experience side effects that become troublesome, you should go back to your GP to find out if there is an alternative medication that may be more suitable for you.

Eurin hydrochloride is a medicine which is used to treat people with bladder problems such as nocturnal enuresis, incontinence and frequency which are caused by an overactive bladder.

It works by preventing spasms of the bladder muscle which can help to reduce the episodes of urinary incontinence or reduce the feeling of urgency that bladder spasms can cause. Eurin hydrochloride may also help to treat bedwetting in children.

Eurin hydrochloride is not suitable for everyone so it’s important that the person prescribing this medicine knows your full medical history.

The use of Eurin in patients who are receiving other drugs with anticholinergic effects will likely result in an increased frequency and/or severity of anticholinergic side effects which include include dry mouth, constipation, confusion, blurred vision, urinary retention (the inability to urinate) and an increased heart rate or palpitations. There are many such drugs, including diphenhydramine (Benadryl), dimenhydrinate (Dramamine), scopolamine (Trans-Scop), benztropine (Cogentin), disopyramide (Norpace), thioridazine (Mellaril), and amitriptyline (Elavil, Endep).

Combining pramlintide (Symlin) with Eurin may severely reduce bowel movements. This combination should be avoided.

Eurin may delay passage of potassium tablets through the digestive system and result in ulceration or narrowing of the small intestine.

Rated Eurin for Urinary Incontinence Report

I'm on slow release 5mg per day and it's solved my problem of urinary incontinence after sticking with it for a couple of months. plus lots of pelvic floor exercises. Occasional dry mouth but I think I had that before! No other side effects. My only question is whether in time I can stop taking them. doctor was vague.

What is Eurin, and how does it work (mechanism of action)?

Eurin is an oral drug that is used for treating urinary bladder spasm. Eurin has a dual mechanism of action. Contraction of the smooth muscle of the bladder is stimulated by the release of acetylcholine by the nerves within the bladder and the attachment of the acetylcholine to receptors on the surface of the bladder's muscle cells. Eurin suppresses involuntary contractions of the bladder's smooth muscle (spasms) by blocking the release of acetylcholine. This is referred to as an "anticholinergic effect." Eurin also directly relaxes the bladder's outer layer of muscle (the detrusor muscle). The FDA approved Eurin in July 1975.
