Lospre side effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction to Lospre: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

In extremely rare cases, Lospre can cause a condition that results in the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue, leading to potential kidney failure. Call your doctor right away if you have unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if you also have fever, unusual tiredness, and dark colored urine.

Call your doctor at once if you have:

a feeling that you might pass out;

pain or burning when you urinate;

pale skin, feeling light-headed or short of breath, rapid heart rate, trouble concentrating;

wheezing, chest pain;

drowsiness, confusion, mood changes, increased thirst, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting;

swelling, weight gain, feeling short of breath, urinating less than usual or not at all; or

high potassium (slow heart rate, weak pulse, muscle weakness, tingly feeling).

Common Lospre side effects may include:

cold or flu symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever;

pain in your legs or back;

stomach pain, diarrhea;

tired feeling; or

sleep problems (insomnia).

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Will my dose go up or down?

After a few weeks your doctor will check your blood pressure and ask you if you're getting any side effects. You may also have blood tests to check how well your kidneys are working and the amount of potassium in your blood. Your doctor will then decide whether to change your dose of Lospre.

If Lospre doesn't bring your blood pressure down, your doctor may want to increase the dose. If your blood pressure gets too low or you get side effects, your doctor may want to lower your dose.

Rated Lospre (Cozaar) for Diabetic Nephropathy Report

My husband died while on this drug. He experienced similar bad side effects as some on this forum. He was only 55 and had diabetes and high blood pressure. He died one hour after taking this medicine on 4-19-19 of this year on Good Friday. The death was put down as pulmonary cardiac arrest. I wish I had done an autopsy. I still have the pills that were taken off the market (only certain batches? why only certain ones I do not know). I cannot prove this was the cause but he had many of the bad side effects many have posted here.

Rated Lospre (Cozaar) for Hypertension Report

Please check out Lospre before going on this drug. I didn’t and I felt like I would die. I read the review you all took time to post. Thanks! After my doctor changed my PB med to Lospre and taking the Lospre 100 for 3 months with side affects increasing, nausea, diarrhea, headache, arms & shoulder pain, anxiety, no energy, no appetite, stuffy nose, and heaviness feeling in chest, & I couldn’t stay awake because of exhaustion. I did go to the doctor and she had me stop the drug. I feel great, but still have the pain in my shoulders & arms. Like so many of you I will walk & exercise to control BP

Drugs or supplements that contain potassium

Lospre can increase the levels of a substance called potassium in your blood. Taking Lospre with drugs that contain potassium, potassium supplements, or salt substitutes with potassium, can increase your risk of hyperkalemia (high levels of potassium).

    If you have diabetes, do not use Lospre together with any medication that contains aliskiren (Amturnide, Tekturna, Tekamlo, Valturna). You may also need to avoid taking this medicine with aliskiren if you have kidney disease.

    Lospre drug class

    Lospre belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs). A class of drugs is a group of medications that work in a similar way. They’re often used to treat similar conditions.

    Other ARBs include olmesartan, valsartan, and telmisartan. Like Lospre, these drugs can be used to treat high blood pressure.
