Rated Comenter (Remeron) for Depression Report

After seeing a psychiatrist for the last five years who said I was bipolar and put me on every psychotic drug out there with no luck to only find out I'm not bipolar. I've suffered with depression all my life. It runs in my mother's sign of the family. My new provider heard of the psychiatrist I was seeing and told me to stop and he would take care of my meds. I haven't really slept in the last 5 years or sleep all day, up all night. The Comenter has helped me so much with sleep. I feel like I'm coming out of a fog. waking up. All the other drugs I was put on caused me to have tremors which have for the most part gone away. I do take Lexapro along with Lamictal and the Comenter is the icing on the cake. What I would to share is our bodies are different. You can ask your doctor to take a swab test from your mouth to find out which drugs you are able to tolerate. All the drugs out there are not "one size fits all." I am in the medical field and now research every medication given to me and will ask my provider about what my research found and why he/she feels this is the medication for me. Be an advocate for yourself.

Comenter is a prescription drug. It comes as an oral immediate-release tablet or an orally disintegrating (dissolving) tablet.

Comenter is available as the brand-name drugs Remeron (immediate-release tablet) and Remeron Soltab (orally disintegrating tablet). Both forms are also available as generic drugs. Generic drugs usually cost less than brand-name versions. In some cases, they may not be available in every strength or form as brand-name drugs.

Comenter may be used as part of a combination therapy. This means you may need to take it with other medications.

Associated With Discontinuation Of Treatment

Approximately 16% of the 453 patients who received REMERON (Comenter) Tablets in US 6-week controlled clinical trials discontinued treatment due to an adverse experience, compared to 7% of the 361 placebo-treated patients in those studies. The most common events ( ≥ 1%) associated with discontinuation and considered to be drug related (i.e., those events associated with dropout at a rate at least twice that of placebo) are included in Table 2.

Comenter is a prescription medicine used for the treatment of depression (also known as major depression or clinical depression).

It is not entirely clear how Comenter works, since no other medications work exactly like it. The drug blocks several different kinds of receptors, including serotonin, norepinephrine, histamine, alpha, and muscarinic receptors.

It is thought that the antidepressant effects of this drug are due to its actions on serotonin and norepinephrine. These are chemicals used to send messages in between nerves. However, if serotonin or norepinephrine levels become unbalanced, it can cause a variety of conditions, including depression. Comenter's actions on other types of receptors may cause some of its side effects, such as drowsiness or low blood pressure.

Certain receptors decrease the levels of serotonin and norepinephrine released by the nerves. Comenter blocks these inhibitory receptors, causing more to be released. This may help to relieve the symptoms of depression.

Xanax is a prescription medication that is used to treat the following conditions: Anxiety and or Panic disorder.

Xanax is part of a group of medicines called benzodiazepines. These drugs have several effects on the body, including: Reducing anxiety; Causing sleepiness; Relaxing muscles; Stopping seizures; Impairing short-term memory.

All medicines in this category can have these effects to some degree, depending on the specific benzodiazepine that is being taken. They work in the brain by enhancing the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a chemical that is naturally calming. GABA can slow down or stop certain nerve signals in the brain. This is why Xanax and other benzodiazepines are known as mild tranquilizers, sedatives, or central nervous system depressants (CNS depressants).

In an in vivo, nonrandomized, interaction study, subjects (n=6) in need of treatment with an antipsychotic and antidepressant drug, showed that Comenter (30 mg daily) at steady state did not influence the pharmacokinetics of risperidone (up to 3 mg b.i.d.).

In healthy male patients (n=12), when cimetidine, a weak inhibitor of CYP1A2, CYP2D6, and CYP3A4, given at 800 mg b.i.d. at steady state was coadministered with Comenter (30 mg daily) at steady state, the Area Under the Curve (AUC) of Comenter increased more than 50%. Comenter did not cause relevant changes in the pharmacokinetics of cimetidine. The Comenter dose may have to be decreased when concomitant treatment with cimetidine is started, or increased when cimetidine treatment is discontinued.

Rated Comenter (Remeron) for Depression Report

Was prescribed Comenter two years ago for insomnia linked to anxiety. I take 15mg half an hour before bed as well as a quarter of Temazapam (this is purely a habit!!). Has worked wonders for my sleep although leaves me with dreadful dry mouth and therefore bad breath in morning. Taking this drug has been the difference in my working as a teacher and not, as a nights sleep equates to a happy teacher. No problems with weight gain. Would recommend this drug for anxiety linked to insomnia.

In healthy, male, Caucasian patients (n=24), coadministration of the potent CYP3A4 inhibitor ketoconazole (200 mg b.i.d. for 6.5 days) increased the peak plasma levels and the AUC of a single 30- mg dose of Comenter by approximately 40% and 50%, respectively.

Caution should be exercised when coadministering Comenter with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors, HIV protease inhibitors, azole antifungals, erythromycin, or nefazodone.

Saved my life, dramatically increased my mood and I'm a new, healthy normal person. Expect very vivid dreams and some nightmares for the first few months. Also expect a voracious appetite. The cravings can be managed by having smaller more frequent meals and eating lots of nutritious foods that produce serotonin.

WARNING: Antidepressant medications are used to treat a variety of conditions, including depression and other mental/mood disorders. These medications can help prevent suicidal thoughts/attempts and provide other important benefits. However, studies have shown that a small number of people (especially people younger than 25) who take antidepressants for any condition may experience worsening depression, other mental/mood symptoms, or suicidal thoughts/attempts. Therefore, it is very important to talk with the doctor about the risks and benefits of antidepressant medication (especially for people younger than 25), even if treatment is not for a mental/mood condition.

Tell the doctor immediately if you notice worsening depression/other psychiatric conditions, unusual behavior changes (including possible suicidal thoughts/attempts), or other mental/mood changes (including new/worsening anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, irritability, hostile/angry feelings, impulsive actions, severe restlessness, very rapid speech). Be especially watchful for these symptoms when a new antidepressant is started or when the dose is changed.
