What is Lisoril?

The active ingredient of Lisoril brand is hydrochlorothiazide. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps prevent your body from absorbing too much salt, which can cause fluid retention. Hydrochloro­thiazide USP is a white, or practically white, crystalline powder which is slightly soluble in water, but freely soluble in sodium hydroxide solution. Each tablet for oral administration contains 25 mg or 50 mg Hydrochlorothiazide USP. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: dibasic calcium phosphate, lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch, FD&C yellow No.6 lake, corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate.

Lisoril is used to treat diseases such as: Diabetes Insipidus, Edema, High Blood Pressure, Nephrocalcinosis, Osteoporosis.

Side Effect

Possible side effects of Lisoril include: difficulty with breathing; fever; coughing up blood; nosebleeds; greatly decreased frequency of urination or amount of urine; puffiness or swelling of the eyelids or around the eyes, face, lips, or tongue; joint pain, stiffness, or swelling; sore throat.
