What should I avoid while taking Yaricef?
Antibiotic medicines can cause diarrhea, which may be a sign of a new infection. If you have diarrhea that is watery or has blood in it, call your doctor. Do not use any medicine to stop the diarrhea unless your doctor has told you to.

Yaricef is a drug from the group of cephalosporins (cephalosporin antibiotics). Yaricef works by killing bacteria (bactericide) and it is used to treat a number of infections:
- Respiratory tract infections (tonsillitis, sore throat, pneumonia)
- Middle ear infections (otitis media)
- Gynecological infections
- Urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis)
- Skin and soft tissue infections

Yaricef is a first-generation cephalosporin, and activity and clinical use are similar to cephalexin.

Yaricef should be used with extra precautions in patients with renal disorders (if creatinine clearance is less than 50 ml / min).
Yaricef should be avoided in patients who have or have ever had pseudomembranous colitis (intestinal infection) caused by antibiotics. If you are experiencing diarrhea, contact your doctor, because diarrhea may be a sign that colitis (intestinal infection) has occured.
What are the uses for Yaricef?
Yaricef is prescribed to treat bacterial infections such as Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Moraxella catarrhalis, E. coli, Klebsiella, and Proteus mirabilis, urinary tract infections (UTI), throat infections (sore throat), and tonsillitis.

Indications for Yaricef Tablets:
Susceptible urinary tract, skin and skin structure infections, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, impetigo.
Yaricef may cause the following side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, headache, dizziness, other infections (genital candidiasis, colitis), decrease in the number of white blood cells in the blood (leucopenia), joint pain, flu-like symptoms (fever and sore throat), liver damage followed with jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), allergy (rash, itching, swelling of the face, swelling of the tongue and difficulty breathing).
Immediately tell your doctor if you are experiencing any of the abovementioned side effects.

Are there any other precautions or warnings for this medication?
Before you begin using a medication, be sure to inform your doctor of any medical conditions or allergies you may have, any medications you are taking, whether you are pregnant or breast-feeding, and any other significant facts about your health. These factors may affect how you should use this medication.
Allergy: Before starting treatment with Yaricef, make sure to tell your doctor about any adverse reactions you have had to medications, especially Yaricef, cephalosporins, and penicillins. Some people allergic to penicillin may also be allergic to cephalosporins such as Yaricef. If you have an allergic reaction, contact your doctor.
Antibiotic-associated colitis: This medication, like other antibiotics, may cause a potentially dangerous condition called antibiotic-associated colitis (or pseudomembranous colitis). Symptoms include severe, watery diarrhea that may be bloody. If you notice these symptoms, stop taking Yaricef and contact your doctor as soon as possible.
Kidney function: People with reduced kidney function or kidney disease should discuss with their doctor how this medication may affect their medical condition, how their medical condition may affect the dosing and effectiveness of this medication, and whether any special monitoring is needed.
Overgrowth of organisms: Prolonged or repeated use of Yaricef may result in an overgrowth of bacteria or fungi and organisms that are not killed by the medication. This can cause other infections, such as yeast infections, to develop.
Pregnancy: It is not known if Yaricef is safe for use by pregnant women. This medication should not be used during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you become pregnant while taking this medication, contact your doctor immediately.
Breast-feeding: This medication passes into breast milk. If you are a breast-feeding mother and are taking Yaricef, it may affect your baby. Talk to your doctor about whether you should continue breast-feeding.

Yaricef treats an infection by killing the bacteria that are causing it.
How to use
The dose depends on the type and severity of the infection. Yaricef can be taken with or without food, with 1 cup of water.
The usual dose for patients above the age of 12 is 500 mg or 1000 mg twice a day (every 12 hours). Duration of treatment should be 7-10 days. It is important to take Yaricef capsules as long as your doctor recommended, even if you feel better. In this way you will avoid bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
Yaricef is used at a dose of 1000 mg once a day to treat skin and soft tissue infections.
For urinary tract infections (pyelonephritis), Yaricef is used at a dose of 1000 mg twice a day, for 2 weeks.
In children below the age of 12, the dose of Yaricef should be calculated on the basis of child's body weight. Yaricef should be used in the form of syrup in children.
How should I use this medication?
The exact dose of Yaricef depends on the condition being treated.
The recommended adult dose of Yaricef is 1 g to 2 g daily in one dose or divided into 2 doses. The recommended dose for children is 30 mg per kilogram of body weight daily, divided into 2 doses.
It may be taken with or without food; taking it with food may reduce the chances of stomach upset.
Finish all of this medication, even you start to feel better. This will reduce the chance of the infection returning.
Many things can affect the dose of medication that a person needs, such as body weight, other medical conditions, and other medications. If your doctor has recommended a dose different from the ones listed here, do not change the way that you are taking the medication without consulting your doctor.
It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible and continue with your regular schedule. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you are not sure what to do after missing a dose, contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.
Store this medication at room temperature and keep it out of the reach of children.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater (e.g. down the sink or in the toilet) or in household garbage. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed or have expired.
