Mixing Lapimox with herbal remedies and supplements

There are no known problems with taking herbal remedies and supplements alongside Lapimox.

What other drugs will affect Lapimox?

Other drugs may interact with Lapimox, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Tell each of your health care providers about all medicines you use now and any medicine you start or stop using.

Lapimox and Pregnancy

If you're a woman, let your doctor know if you are or may be pregnant, are breastfeeding, or using birth control pills.

Though Lapimox is widely believed to be safe, ask your doctor if the risks of taking antibiotics while pregnant outweigh the benefits.

Also, let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding because Lapimox can pass through breast milk and increase the risk for a later allergic reaction in babies.

Allopurinol

The concurrent administration of allopurinol and Lapimox increases the incidence of rashes in patients receiving both drugs as compared to patients receiving Lapimox alone. It is not known whether this potentiation of Lapimox rashes is due to allopurinol or the hyperuricemia present in these patients.

More Lapimox resources and information

This list may not describe all the potential side effects of Lapimox. If you are experiencing any adverse effects of any drug that isn’t listed here, call your doctor for advice.

Lapimox in vitro susceptibility testing methods for determining minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) and zone sizes have not been standardized, validated, or approved for testing H. pylori. Specimens for H. pylori and clarithromycin susceptibility test results should be obtained on isolates from patients who fail triple therapy. If clarithromycin resistance is found, a non-clarithromycin-containing regimen should be used.

Usage

To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of AMOXIL (Lapimox) and other antibacterial drugs, AMOXIL should be used only to treat infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are available, they should be considered in selecting or modifying antibacterial therapy. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy.

Diarrhea

Diarrhea is loose, watery, and frequent stool. Diarrhea is considered chronic when you have had loose or frequent stools for more than four weeks.

Drink plenty of fluids to avoid becoming dehydrated. Drinking milk or other fluids such as water may be fine for mild diarrhea. For moderate and severe diarrhea, electrolyte solutions available online and in drugstores are usually best.

Diarrhea is a common side effect of Lapimox. All antibiotics kill off the normal bacteria in our guts which disrupts the gut and can lead to diarrhea.

To treat diarrhea caused by Lapimox, consider a supplement with probiotics and stay hydrated.

Diarrhea is typically considered a common side effect, but if you’re becoming dehydrated or noticing streaks of blood in the diarrhea, get professional medical attention immediately.
